SUBSTITUTE and FULL-TIME CUSTODIAL
POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Substitute and Full-Time Custodian
Time: 7-3, or 3-11
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year custodial experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with floor burnishers and auto scrubbers preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and to work independently.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to be flexible and perform other tasks as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Director of Plant Services, Asst. Dir. of Plant Services and/or Building Principal
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The custodian shall perform the general housekeeping duties; assist in the care of all equipment, furniture and buildings, and assist in the care and maintenance of the school grounds. All duties shall be completed in a professional and appropriate manor, especially around children.
PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Dust mops and wet mops or vacuums all floors and corridors in assigned areas.
- Reports any malfunction equipment to plant services.
- Receives all supplies for the building,
- Cleans and sanitizes horizontal surfaces counters, furniture.
- Fills supplies such as paper towel, soap, and toilet paper dispensers.
- Empties wastebaskets and removes trash from building.
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms in assigned areas, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors and floors.
- Replaces burned out light bulbs and reports bad ballasts to plant services.
- Operates mowers, weed eaters, snow blowers, and shovels snow and salts as well as other outdoor duties assigned by the Principal or Plant Services Director.
- Unlocks and locks doors, turns off lights, reports damages to Principal or plant services.
- Performs and other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Plant Services Director with reasonable time limits.
