Home School Visitor/Social Worker
Reports to: Building Principal/Dir. of Pupil Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid PA Certification in Home and School Visitor, required.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- Cooperative, congenial and service oriented.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and an ability to work with limited supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible.
- Ability and experience working as a member of a team.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies.
PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Reads and abides by the state and federal laws and regulations.
- Serve as attendance officer and consults with the school personnel and parents regarding attendance and issues of truancy.
- Coordinates referrals to AIU Truancy Prevention Program

Serve as attendance officer and consults with the school personnel and parents regarding attendance and issues of truancy.
- Counsel’s parents and students as warranted.
- Arranges for transportation of parents to meetings if needed.
- Establishes and maintains contact with community resources and social work agencies.
- Liaison for students and families experiencing homelessness.
- Engages in social work.
- Investigate family problems and recommend services.
- Provide for students’ needs through appropriate referral to certified school psychologist or guidance counselor.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
