EVENING MAINTENANCE

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE:  Full-Time

 

Time:  3 PM - 11 PM

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:          

 

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. One year maintenance experience preferred.
  3. Knowledge and experience with floor burnishers and auto scrubbers preferred.
  4. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  1. Able to manage multiple priorities and to work independently.
  2. Ability to work as part of a team.
  3. Ability to be flexible and perform other tasks as assigned.

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Plant Services, Asst. Dir. of Plant Services and/or Building Principal

 

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

 

The maintenance worker shall perform the general housekeeping duties; assist in the care of all equipment, furniture and buildings, and assist in the care and maintenance of the school grounds.  All duties shall be completed in a professional and appropriate manor, especially around children.

 

 

PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  1. Must be able to work with maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
  2. Must be able to operate all school district equipment and vehicles.
  3. May be called upon to work in a combination of assignments during the work shift: care and cleaning, scheduled activities, pesticide applications, maintenance helper, snow removal, grass cutting, field lining, general labor, etc...
  4. Replaces burned out light bulbs and reports bad ballasts to plant services.
  5. Operates mowers, weed eaters, snow blowers, and shovels snow and salts as well as other outdoor duties assigned by the Principal or Plant Services Director.
  6. Unlocks and locks doors, turns off lights, reports damages to Principal or plant services.
  7. Performs and other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Plant Services Director with reasonable time limits.
  8. The utility person may fill in wherever a custodian is absent as assigned by the Plant manager, Asst. Plant manager or their designee.

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 50 pounds
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, bend and reach to retrieve and handle teaching materials and supplies
  • Moving fingers and hands in a repetitive manner
  • Ability to speak clearly and distinctly when communicating
  • Hearing clearly
  • Adequate vision to perform duties
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and demonstrate the ability to drive various district maintenance vehicles
  • Must be physically able to work from scaffolds, ladders, and roofs and be physically able to handle supplies and materials up to 100 pounds.
