QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Nursing License and School Nurse Certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, required.
2. Experience in medical or school environment, preferred.
3. Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
4. Cooperative, congenial and service oriented.
5. Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
6. Possesses conflict mediation skills.
7. Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and an ability to work with limited supervision.
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
9. Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible.
10. Ability and experience working as a member of a team.
11. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies.

 

PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

1. Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with established procedures.
2. Helps maintains effective health room schedule.
3. Maintains and executes standing orders of District approved physician.
4. Provide information and services in school health related areas.
5. Assists with necessary data collection, supports maintenance of records, notifies parents and /or guardians of acute health concerns, oversees transportation of ill or injured children and initiates accident reports pertaining to health services.
6. Provides specialized care as required.
7. Participates in professional development to maintain state license.
8. Assists with care, storage, inventory and requisition of supplies and equipment.
9. Assists with care, storage, distribution, and disposal of student medicines.
