POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Associate School Principal-Anticipated
TERMS: 240 days per year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pennsylvania K-12 or K-6 Principal Certification, required.
- A Master’s Degree in education, preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of teaching experience at the secondary level is preferred.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies.
- Experience supervising and evaluating professional and non-professional staff.
- Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Ability to work under pressure, be flexible, and work as part of a team.
- Self-motivated; demonstrated initiative and ability to follow through with completion of tasks.
- Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups; able to promote high expectations and high quality for all staff.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, while remaining logical and interpersonal.
- Ability to effectively present information and articulately respond to questions from administrators, staff, parents, students, business and educational partners, and the general public.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The associate principal is responsible for providing leadership to assist the building principal in the ongoing development and improvement of the instructional program of the school. He/she assists with the supervision of all professional and non-professional personnel assigned to the building. The associate principal is also responsible for supporting the safety protocols established for the building.
PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist in the development of building level goals that support the district’s comprehensive plan.
- Administer the school in the absence of the principal, as assigned.
- Effectively supervise and evaluate staff assigned by the building principal.
- Provide support to the building principal in the preparation of the course of study and master schedule.
- Make periodic checks of buildings and grounds and report to principal those items which need attention
- Administer and supervise attendance for both students and staff assigned by the building principal.
- Provide fair and consistent discipline while following the district’s discipline policy and the School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Program by managing the general discipline problems of the school and those referred by teachers for special attention.
- Represent the principal at professional meetings, as needed.
- Assist with planning and facilitation of staff development and training.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing and selecting teachers, as assigned by the building principal.
- Plan and organize programs and schedule for student teachers, as directed by the principal.
- Coordinate district assessments as assigned by principal.
- Perform any other administrative or supervisory duties assigned by the building principal or division director.
