POSITION TITLE: Plumber
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a journeyman plumbing license.
- Must possess a valid PA driver’s license and demonstrate ability to drive various district vehicles required.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge in reading blue prints and drawings.
- Must be able to operate trucks with plows for snow removal.
- Five (4) + years of proven experience in the plumbing field preferred.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and to work independently.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to be flexible and perform other tasks as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Dir. and/or Asst. Dir. of Plant Services
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
This position is accountable for being a professional part of the maintenance department and maintaining and repairing parts and equipment to help keep the district operating safely and efficiently.
PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Cuts, installs, joins, threads, braze, and solder pipes, including copper, iron, cast iron and plastic pipe.
- Operates electric/gas sewer cleaning equipment such as snakes, augers, etc.
- Installs, repairs, maintains sinks, tubs, showers, and toilets as well as associated support, hangers, and fixtures.
- Assembles and installs valves and fittings.
- Assembles, installs, maintains, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
- All duties as assigned by the Plant Services Supervisor or designee.

- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 50 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally handle supplies and materials up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to work from a bucket truck, scaffolds, ladders and roofs.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, bend and reach to retrieve and handle materials and supplies.
- Moving fingers and hands in a repetitive manner.
- Ability to speak clearly and distinctly when communicating.
- Hearing clearly.
- Adequate vision to perform duties.
