The Penn Hills School District, located in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh is currently seeking an Elementary Teacher for the Penn Hills School District.

ELEMENTARY TEACHER

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE:              Teacher

 

QUALIFICATIONS:          

 

1. A Bachelor’s degree in education is required.

2. A valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in relevant content area is required (PK-4 or K-6).

3. One (1) to three (3) years of experience at the elementary level is preferred.  Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies.

4. Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills required.

5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.

6. Ability to work under pressure, be flexible, and work as part of a team.

7. Self-motivated; demonstrated initiative and ability to follow through with completion of tasks.

8. Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups; able to promote high expectations and high quality for all staff.

9. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, while remaining logical and interpersonal.

10. Ability to negotiate and diffuse conflict.

11. Ability to effectively present information and articulately respond to questions from administrators, staff, parents, students, business and educational partners, and the general public.

12. Demonstrated leadership skills.

13. Data-driven decision making skills.

14. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

                       

REPORTS TO:                     Building Principal or designee

 

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

A teacher must demonstrate knowledge of a variety of instructional strategies and formative and summative assessments.  The purpose of this position is to effectively engage students in the learning process and support their growth in and understanding of the specified subject matter.
